Having Back Pain?! Few Advices How to Manage the Pain

Back pain can be very stressful and sometimes can completely destroy your day, and ruin your productivity.

For all of us who are facing this health issue – at some point caused of various and unknown reasons – back pain can be more than just a daily problem and can easily stop us from being productive and leave us in bed all day long. But very often, also few weeks or maybe months, and can keep coming back.

Here Are Some Advices How to Manage This Health Problem

Always Sit up Straight and In Good Posture

Yes, your grandma was right! Slouching is very bad for your back. And, if you are not in good posture – this can make back pain worse. Especially, if you sit for long periods during the day. Never slump over your keyboard.

Always sit upright, having your shoulders relaxed, and your body supported well against the back of your chair. Maybe you should try to put a pillow or a rolled towel – between your lower back and your seat. Don`t forget to keep your feet flat on the floor.

Try to Find a Good Sleep Position

Sleeping can be really hard when you have back pain. It can became a real brutal cycle – because – when you don’t sleep well, your back pain can become even worse.

Bad sleep position can also aggravate back pain.  Always try lying on your side. You can also place some pillow between your knees to keep your spine in a normal and neutral position – and relieve strain on your back. If you are more comfortable to sleep on your back, try to slide a pillow under your knees. Be sure that you sleep on a comfortably firm mattress.

Pain Relievers

You can find two types of pain relievers that usually help with back pain – non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and acetaminophen.

Always keep in mind that both can have some side effects, so, some individuals may not be able to take them. Before to take pain relievers, first, talk to your doctor. And, never expect that medication alone will solve your pain problem instantly. All the clinical trials and studies show that we probably need more than one type of treatment.

Try With Physical Therapy

Your personal physical therapists can always teach you how to sit, to stand, and to move in a way that keeps your spine in proper alignment and alleviates strain on your back. They can also show you some specialized exercises that strengthen your core muscles that support the back.

A strong core is one of the most known recommended ways to prevent more back pain in the future. Different studies confirmed that when you increase your strength, your flexibility, and your stamina – back pain can decrease. But it will takes time.
